Winner of the Caardvarks Challenge!

We had such a hard time picking the winner of the "Think Pink" challenge over at Caardvarks.  I had a long list of my favorites... including the two 'runners up' already posted on the Caardvarks blog.  I thought I would share a few of my other faves!! 

Here is the winner's card: Zarah's "Kram" card.  (Zarah told us the card translates to "Here comes a big Hug"). I love the lace and the pink/black color combo.

Last chance for Caardvarks Challenge

The "Think Pink" challenge over at the Caardvarks Challenge Blog is ending tomorrow (July 2nd) at midnight, so get your pink supplies out and design a cute card for a chance to win a great prize from Pink Persimmon.  

Jenyfur, who runs the Caardvarks Blog, made this adorable card with the Little Red Wagon set and sent us a photo.  I love her quote, it works perfectly with the stamp image.  Thanks for sharing this with us Jenyfur! She also told us that she made some coloring pages for her girls with the Wagon set so they were coloring while she was making this adorable card.  What a great idea!  

Judi has some cute designs she is working on for a new release in September.  That's all we're sayin' for now.  (And they are soooo cute!).  Watch for sneak peaks in a future newsletter!  

Learned some great tag techniques

Look at these oh so cute tags!  I wish I could take credit for the design, but no, it's Kerry Lynn Yeary who designed them.  I made them in a class that I took last weekend at Picture Me Perfect, taught by Kerry Lynn.  I had such a fun time and just love these tags.  Now I am folding all kinds of paper to make those fun flowers.  Once you start, you just can't stop!  You will probably see them show up here and there in Pink Persimmon things!   -  Judi

What a sweet gift!

Hi All!  Judi here. (yes, I really do exist, and yes this is my first post on the blog).  I was finally inspired to share something on the blog because of the sweetest gift from a friend of mine.   

Look what I found on my craft table when I came home today!  My friend Rebecca left this for me, just for fun.  This is the cutest wrapping paper ever!  I love how she made the background paper using the tree from the Oh Dear Silhouette set.  It looks like she just stamped it randomly, filling up the paper.  This would be such a cute background paper for a scrapbook page.  And that wrapping paper would have been gift enough, it is so beautiful, but then inside there was a vintage encyclopedia, which I love to tear up and include in my designs.  Thank you Rebecca!!  I'm going to put the paper on my inspiration wall and start destroying the book right away!  

Look at the color she used for the Owl wings.  So cute!!

We had a great time at Suzy West's store today with some very cute make & takes. I'll have more photos to show from the party tomorrow, just wanted to get our Grand Opening Winner announced as soon as possible! See you all tomorrow at our Grand Opening!  

Sneak Peak for Judi's Make & Take

She won't let me give away the whole photo of the CUTE make & take that she designed for our special day at  Picture Me Perfect, but Judi did give me the teeny tiny little sneak and she PROMISED that those of you who can't make it to the Make & Take will get to see everything next week.  Be sure to come visit us on June 7th if you are anywhere near Fremont (Northern California) from 11am to 1pm.

It's Official - Grand Opening on June 8th

The stamps have arrived, we are busy packaging them up, finishing some great samples for you to view and getting our online shopping cart all in order.  We are thrilled to finally be able to open our online store on Sunday June 8th! 

To top it all off and make a full weekend of our Grand Opening, we'll be having a Make & Take party at Picture  Me Perfect in Fremont, CA.  So all you Northern California stampers, be sure to head on over on Saturday June 7th from 11am-1pm for some fun with Pink Persimmon Stamps.  Judi and I will be there, along with some great designers from Picture Me Perfect.  We would love to meet some of you in person and see what you think about the first release of our stamps.

Guest Artist - Michelle Tornay

Michelle Tornay, one of Suzy West's "Mechanics" (Design Team) agreed to do a little playing with some of our stamps and came up with some adorable designs that are now posted in our gallery.  Michelle has an incredible style, and we are thrilled that she wanted to do some creating with our stamps.  Thanks so much Michelle!  I hope we can get more of your beautiful designs on the Pink Persimmon Gallery as an official "Guest Designer" very soon. 

The perils of starting a business...

So my husband and I are so busy right now juggling kids, sports, and work. I know, I know, you all do the same thing too. But when our only discussion during the day ends up being about the virtues of UPS shipping vs. Postal Service shipping, well, then things have gotten out of hand. I think it's time for a date.

I see the look in my kids eyes as they gloss over and I know that all they hear me saying is "Stamps, blah, blah, blah, Website blah, blah, blah, Shipping Costs, blah, blah, blah" and then they ask what is for dinner.

And the other day, my neighbor asks, "now, what exactly do you do with these stamp things?" and then "is there really a market for this?" (I love that one). Yah, I know, they are clueless as to the very real world of scrapbooks, crafts and stamping that we all love, right? Hard to explain this love of creating to the uninitiated. Just need to keep spreading the love!

Playing with Stamps!

Judi took our stamp samples over to Picture Me Perfect on Saturday so the "Mechanics" (Suzy's Design Team) could work with our stamps and create some samples for us. Kerry Lynn Yeary was there as well and has created an adorable layout posted over at SIStv with our Banner Set.

We'll be doing a formal thanks for our guest designers very soon, but thought I would share a few pictures of Suzy, Kerry Lynn and Pattie Beltran playing with our stamps on Saturday!

Here's Pattie working with our Ric Rac Rectangle Stamp and the Carnival Font to create a cute little recipe card holder. The next photo shows the recipe card box in progress. We'll have the finished sample up on the website very soon!
